Rat Says: Oh yes Fox News, the horror of Chavez and his 12 cent/gallon gas prices, please don’t do that to us. Do these pundits have a clue how badly people are hurting? Treating gas as a utility isn’t the dumbest idea I have ever heard, but it may give the ‘free market’ crowd an aneurysm.

There are two very effective tools we could use right now to make transportation affordable again. Number one would be to change the margin requirements on oil futures contracts. Take them from 16 to 1 to something more reasonable like 4 to 1 or even 2 to 1. Fed margin calls sure brought down the price of stocks in 1929…. having oil crash would be a positive. The hedge funds won’t like it but who asked them? While they are whining we should be investigating them for collusion. (along with the illegal naked shorting scandal which the SEC continues to ignore)

Secondly, we need a push for alternative fuels… (yeah, I know… DUH Rat). I may chase people off RatTube but I think Hydrogen Hybrids will hurt the oligarchs along the same level that YouTube has had by exposing their criminal media. Savings of 25% to 30% and higher are currently being reported, these numbers will continue to increase as the technology goes viral.

What strikes me first about this story is ‘what took you guys so long’?
