Rat Says: The NY Times spiked this story back in December according to the DrudgeReport. The neocons are trying to spin this as a liberal paper attacking a conservative nominee. This story is years old and the NY Times could easily have run this before the primaries. They also could have waited till fall right before the election, for maximum damage. Releasing this story now, after McCain has already clinched the nomination is the best strategy the McCain team could have hoped for.

By Novemeber 08 this story will almost be forgotten and it will be frowned upon to even bring it up. The NY Times endorsed McCain who is easily the most Hawkish candidate out of the Neocons that entered the race, save for Rudy. People this is all choreographed in regards to timing and content. The oligarchs have a script, and staying in Iraq and the middle east while escalating the war is all part of the plan. They just have to sell you on it without making it too obvious.
