Romney Chuckles at Ron Paul, Radio Host Loses It
Mark Larsen of 1040 AM WWBA interviewed Mitt Romney on the morning of 1/29/2008. The sneers and chuckles from slippery Romney pushed him over the edge and drove him to support the only real candidate — Ron Paul. ozlo
Rat Says: Wow, Rat likes this guy! Mitt you really need to watch that cocky smugness… sounds like you lost a few votes on that interview. Thank You Mark Larsen of 1040 AM.

i do not understand what’s so awesome about this, romney was correct to laugh at ron paul. who in their right mind thinks that we can do without the CIA or the FBI? Are you kidding? Look back through history, just of the 20th cen., and you’ll quickly realize that without the CIA we would have lost the Cold War and would be watching state run news right now. It’s people like Ron Paul that make real conservatives look bad.

Vtwizzie: I think the reason you believe that america would no be able to function correctly, or safely, without the CIA or FBI is because you seem to be under the impression that the CIA or FBI, or elements within both organizations, have the best intentions for the general public, and that they are the shield that protects this country from our enemies. There are many documents, newstories, and other publications on the web detailing many of the, let’s see - how do I put this lightly, unpleasant actions and events that took place due to the CIA or FBI being involved. They told us the enemy had Weapons of Mass Destruction, most of us trusted their conclusions and were dumbstruck when *Oops* none could be found. Can they make mistakes? Absolutely, no one is perfect, but when an organization has a reputation for doing illegal things and being able to get away with it, I’d guess, 80%+ of the time under the conclusion that “They’re doing what’s best for us”, you tend to question what exactly is going on. Then you begin to find things that you would never have imagined possible. Though, don’t take my word for it, maybe I’m wrong and these organizations love us and they would do whatever it took to protect the people of the United States! (And appearantly all of planet earth) Do your own research, you might enjoy it. How’s about reading the web on Operation Northwoods, and then go on from there. Have fun! =)

ultrasonicsite, I appreciate your reply, and I am familiar with Operation Northwoods. I guess I am just willing to let these things happen in the name of our country - I tend to think that, at the time, the DoD was acting in the best interest of the American people and setting up a plan in case immediate action in Cuba was required. Regardless of who thinks what re: Northwoods, it is shady and I can see why people would then question the system in general. I do believe that we would not be able to function without the CIA - if we really knew everything that they did, they wouldn’t be any good at their jobs, correct? Sure they made mistakes, but everyone does and we still seem to have came out ahead (waiting this Iraq debacle out). I’m just trying to say that maybe such a drastic change isn’t necessary - in my opinion, RP seems to think that people will respond better to radical notions of change now and is preying on the extreme discontent with the current administration (I’d argue that much of America is not happy with the Administration but not to a great extent) of a minority group in this country to get his agenda across. Whether or not the CIA works in our best interest as Americans will be debated forever, but I see no reason to deny such a fact. Many of the former classified docs that are now released are the ones that meant little or nothing to what was going on at the time, or were simply plans never put into action ie Northwoods. For the CIA to release all their workings and secrets would surely compromise our democracy, and I for one would not like that to happen. All the rest is conspiracy and hearsay - ala the 9/11 deniers.
Just an observation: We seem to be at an interesting time in our history, where we need to question everything and everyone, denying 9/11, digging for dirt on Obama who most certainly is not a Muslim, and soforth. Maybe the reason that RP supports what he does is to pick up this demographic of conspiracy theorists that are not satisfied with “good enough”. Either way thanks for your reply, and I hope I made some sense here
