Rat Says: This is just creepy the way Bush answers a reporter’s question on Pat Tillman’s murder; Slick Willie, Bush is not. He is more like a deer caught in the headlights as he stumbles to find the right lies to tell the reporter. Meanwhile, his administration scrambles to figure out how to escalate war with Iran.

Russia sparks Cold War scramble
Russian bombers have flown to the US Pacific island of Guam in a manoeuvre reminiscent of the Cold War era.
Two Tu-95 turboprops flew this week to Guam, home to a big US military base, Russian Maj Gen Pavel Androsov said, a story confirmed by the US…….
Old practice
Gen Androsov said the strategic bombers had flown 13 hours from their base in the Russian Far East during the exercise.
“It has always been the tradition of our long-range aviation to fly far into the ocean, to meet [US] aircraft carriers and greet [US pilots] visually,” he said at a news conference.
“Yesterday [Wednesday] we revived this tradition, and two of our young crews paid a visit to the area of the base of Guam,” he said.
“I think the result was good. We met our colleagues - fighter jet pilots from [US] aircraft carriers. We exchanged smiles and returned home,” he added.
A spokesman for the Pentagon confirmed that the Tu-95s were spotted heading to Guam, adding that US fighter readied themselves to repel them……… full article: news.bbc.co.uk
Rat Says: Rumors and chatter on the internet earlier this week had B-2 bombers already heading out from their station in Missouri. Servicemen were said to have scrambled to prepare for their journey to Guam, some not even having time to call loved ones to say their good byes.
Now we see Russia, as reported by the BBC, sending pilots on a meet and greet to the same region. It appears they are letting the US know that “they know” and this is a very transparent warning not to bomb Iran. With the neocons still in charge, the dollar imploding, housing callapsing, China threatening to dump Treasuries, oil futures pushing new highs, and the stock market bouncing around, all bets are off on how this will all play out. Get your house in order.

In essence, it is a war propaganda hit piece designed to set the reader at ease regarding the Iranian threat. It informs the reader as to the B-2 bomber’s recent alterations that will allow it to carry bunker busters of the sort that will destroy Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
