Real Time Response: Ron Paul’s Position On Preemptive War Divides Republicans And Independents
Ron Paul introduced himself by saying he was the “constitution candidate.”
When asked about what moral issues were important in the campaign, Paul stood-by this strict constitutionalist position and argued that we need to go back to defending our liberties and rights, and not wage war preemptively. As you can see in this clip, the reaction from our group was strongly split between the Republicans and Independents, with Independents reacting positively and Republicans reacting negatively. This difference intensified when Paul said nuclear war and violence were not the answer and the Republicans in our group turned their dials to the left to indicate disapproval with Paul’s position against preemptive war.
…..Even though Mr. Lepacek was unable to specifically question Giuliani he was able to pepper one of Giuliani’s staff members with hard questions. Despite asking these questions in a respectful manner, Mr. Lepacek was escorted out of the building even though he was asking legitimate questions and had press credentials issued to him by the debate organizers. Mr. Lepacek protested his removal from the post-debate press area and demanded to know from police officers why his Constitutional rights were being violated. What made this even crazier was the fact that most of this was broadcast via a live web camera feed on the We Are Change web site.
