Deputy Kevin Stabins didn’t believe the crying woman. He told investigators he thought she was lying to get out of a speeding ticket and that his actions in arresting her were “fine.”
His dashboard camera showed otherwise.
It showed the Hillsborough County deputy yanking a sobbing Melissa J. Langston out of a car in a hospital parking lot Nov. 1 and using his elbow to shove her over the trunk to handcuff her.
Langston, 37, sobbed and pleaded with the deputy that her father had suffered a heart attack and that she was trying to find him.
“And I told you not to go anywhere, didn’t I?” Stabins said. “Now you’re not going to see him because you’re going to jail. Not smart. Not smart. Have a seat, you’re under arrest……….” full article:*Jburtonstone
In somewhat of a surprise, Congressman Ron Paul, one of ten Republican presidential hopefuls, beat out the other nine corporate candidates, in a difficult debate format hosted by MSNBC, the first of the 2008 presidential election. In stark contrast to the other corporate shill candidates, who were all tough on the “fake war on terror,” Ron Paul pounded home his message of returning to the principles of our forefathers and the Constitution. He even confirmed one of his first task as President would be to dismantle the IRS.
As you analyze the statistics on MSNBCs candidates’ performance page, it should be noted that Ron Paul’s numbers were actually better in the first hours after the actual debate. His approval rating was 45% while the next contender Mitt Romney followed far behind in the low 30’s. As of the following morning, after the debate, Ron still holds a commanding lead at 39% versus Romney’s 31%. The story here is that the mainstream media virtually ignored Paul after the debate and tried to declare Romney the “obvious leader.” The only coverage Paul received was Keith Olbermann grudgingly announcing Ron had the best performance(via their own website), just as they were signing off the air.
Of note, Ron Paul in what all would consider an incredible showing, is closing in on second place on the shill neocon website, The Drudge Report. After appx. 72,000 votes Romney has 35%, Giuliani has 20%, and Ron Paul has closed the gap rising to 18%. Given the mainstream media has praised neocon Romney and his war mongering ad nauseum, Ron Paul’s showing is at the very least remarkable. Once the Tancredos and Brownbacks drop out of the race and the debate is a three or four man contest, the people will actually get a chance to hear one of the first real candidates for president since the beginning of the 20th century.
